Welcome!

So what is “La Whaai”? In Dutch, when we hear a lot of noise around us we call that “lawaai”. So when we make music we’re creating a lot of noise. A creative Nesta made it look a bit more French, and now we call ourselves “La Whaai”. And recently we discovered that “La Whaai” in Chinese is used for “old man” or “stranger”. We don’t see our selves as old but a bit strange? Yes, we are!

La Whaai
started out in 1979 as two persons, Nesta (Cor Visser) and Whitehaired Jake (Jack Terveer) who both play guitar and do the vocals. At the moment we’re playing with the “La Whaai Collective”. Our regular bassplayer is Mr. Easydora (Rick Isidora)  while “Toots” (Marcel van Wieren) plays the keyboards, Alternate (Petra Brinksma) takes care of the backing vocals.
